Book review

gold of the gods

by Bear Grylls

A very exciting book about survival , culture and courage.

There are three main characters Beck Granger , Christina and Marco.

Beck is a boy that lives with his Uncle Al. He lives with his Uncle because his parents died in a plane crash. Beck is very good at survival he pretty much knows as much as a grown man knows.

Christina and Marco are twin brother and sister from Colombia and their father is mayor Rafael.

Beck Granger , Marco and Christina are lost in a Colombian jungle with no GPS , no food but a tattered map and a strange amulet guiding their way.But Beck has his survival skills and if anyone can keep them alive Beck can.Beck has to try his hardest to not only keep Christina and Marco alive he has to try find his kidnapped uncle as well.

what I liked about Gold of the gods was all of the action in the jungle and I disliked all the talking at the start.

The themes of the book are survival , culture and courage.I think the author is trying to say to work hard to get to your goal because Beck had to do heaps of risky things.

I would recommend the book for ages 9-13 for both boy and girl and I think you would like this book if you're interested in adventure.

I am poem

I am silly and sporty.
I wonder how the first living thing on earth got here.
I hear the crowd screaming wildly.
I see people jumping in glee.
I want a challenging life.
I am silly and sporty.

Hockey Pokey

In Room15 we did hokey pokey the ingredients were
  • Sugar
  • Golden syrup
  • baking soda
First we had to melt the sugar and syrup together to make a liquid then when it had boiled we had to quickly take it off the heat and add baking to make the chemical reaction.
Our hokey pokey was a bit  burnt and it did not taste so nice.

speeches

At Vardon school we have been doing speeches.
The hardest bit about speeches for me is to not go too fast or too slow.
The bit I enjoyed about speeches was presenting it to the class.
I am proud of myself because I got 2nd place in the semifinals and got to the finals .
